The Rock Groupie Privacy Statement

Part of being a great groupie is being trustworthy. While it is important to find understanding and open up about your experiences to other groupies, it is important to do so in a manner that protects the privacy of any musician, band, crew member, or other groupie you deal with. The Rock Groupie upholds strict privacy procedures to avoid any musicians being identified by name, photos, or otherwise on all websites including Tumblr, Twitter, and the Livejournal Community & Forum.

To Maintain Privacy:

  • Never reffer to anybody by their real name or a name that may give away their identity (use a fake one)
  • Never refer to the name of a band or act in a story involving one of its members, crew, or groupies. (feel free to share band names when strictly discussing  music)
  • Avoid slipping information into a story that will give away the identity of the people involved in it. This includes but is not limited to discussing venues with the date and time you were there with the band, and discussing the songs the band played.
  • Never post an identifiable photo (a photo with a face, easily recognisable clothing, or otherwise) with a story that contains people discussed in the story.
  • When posting photos of bands you have seen live, use discretion and stick with photos of the band on stage. When dealing with easily identifiable photos or band names, nowhere in the post should any off stage antics be discussed. (Feel free to discuss a band who performed a great show you went to see, but do not discuss the after parties)
  • Never refer to a hotel by name in association with any band or musician you have been there with.
  • Always consider when posting that what may seem a normal part of The Rock World to you may be hurtful, shocking, or detrimental to somebody in The Real World. This especially includes girlfriends and wives, and this is a major factor in motivating the maintenance of The Rock Groupie’s Privacy Statement
