Hello, I’m April.
I’m writing this letter to all of The Rock Groupie followers to give some insight so who I am, and how I ended up in The Rock World. I began my groupie journey as a clueless 18 year old music fan, and have over the years partied my way into full fledged groupidom! So many people ask me how in the world I got into the life I now live and what my secret is. What do you do to make the guys like you? Is it something to do with your confidence, your body language? Did you have connections on the music scene to begin with? To answer all of these questions—No. The Honest-To-Hendrix reality is that I started out as a totally average girl with ZERO connections, and I’ve never met a musician due to reading Cosmo articles called ‘What Makes Men Fall In Love!’ or ’10 Ways To Impress Him!’ Life doesn’t work that way.
Everyone I’ve met in The Rock World has been the result of me treating everyone I come across with kindness, making as many friends as I can, and most importantly truly being there because I LOVE the music. Girls trying to become groupies seem to get lost between the end of the show and actually getting invited backstage or to the hotel. A HUGE factor in this is that so many girls look down on roadies and that’s where they run into problems. Roadies are some of the coolest, most music-knowledgeable people you will ever meet, not to mention the great stories they tell! Roadies, venue workers, sound guys, managers, and even other groupies can all also fall into the category of people you want to get to know in The Rock World. If you treat them with kindness and respect, they can be wonderful friends to you throughout your Rock N Roll journey, not to mention making your life far easier and getting you into that seemingly elusive VIP room or after party.
While making friends is an important part of becoming a groupie, being a great friend is arguably even more important. Fake friendship simply won’t do, there are too many people putting on a facade in The Rock World and they’ll all see right through you. I’m a caring person by nature and I genuinely enjoy looking after others, I didn’t end up living this life by expecting everyone else to take care of me, and you won’t either. My best advice to groupies and those who aspire to become one is to love properly. Love with everything you’ve got when it comes to the music, friendships, and romances you will experience. The Groupie School tutorials on this site will help you learn how to do that enjoyably, with self-respect, and to the best of your ability, and I hope you use the tools they teach to help you in becoming amazing groupies.
I have lived the life of The Rock Groupie intensely and adoringly, and experienced some of the most brilliant and delightful music, feelings, cities, and peacefulness this life has to offer in doing so—it hasn’t always been easy, but as a whole it’s been the most fun and rewarding experience I’ve ever had, and I hope you will all find the same.
All of my love,
April Stone
